Pregnancy weight, how to get rid of it properly
You now hold your little bungle of joy home for the first time. You look in the mirror and see all of the extra weight you put on after carrying the bay for nine months. Your first thought is I have to lose all of this weight now! The reality is to lose weight properly it takes time, and honestly you will be very tired until the new one gets into his or her routine and starts sleeping all night.
Expect about 6 months before your body is back to its normal weight. The first three months is normally very stressful. Night feedings usually takes a toll on every mother until the baby gets settled down into a nice routine. So for the first few months focus on eating healthy and not losing weight.
Even right after you get home try and do a little bit of exercise. Start off slow and work up to a normal exercise routine. After exercising your will feel full of energy which will help you with being tired from lack of sleep the night before.
If you breastfeed, you will still want to eat healthy, however you must remember that you will need to consume about 500 more calories a day to produce the breast milk that your baby needs.
Your aim is to lose about 6 pounds a month after you are fully recovered. After 2 to 3 months of recovery, that gives you an additional 2 to 4 months to lose the extra weight you gained.
